Inspired by classic race cars from the 1950s and 60s, the Roadster is a gorgeous collection from Cartier, first launched in 2001.
This pre-owned Roadster Cartier particularly comes in tonneau-shaped case sizing 39mm (excluding crown) with symmetrical curves and beautiful polished-finish.
Tonneau-shaped Cartier watches were first introduced in 1906 and “tonneau” is actually the French word for a barrel. Hence, the beautifully curved shape of the watch resembles a barrel-like case.
The case, as a pre-owned watch, has micro scratches (see photo).
The Roadster carries an oversized and magnified date window at the 3 o’clock position. The design is in fact inspired by luxury roadsters during the 50s and 60s specifically. It’s more like a recall to the beautifully curved windshields of vintage cars back in the day.
On the side of the watch, the crown has a steel cabochon.
The watch dial with its stretched Roman Numeral hour markers, concentric circular details, minute hash marks, and thin seconds handis a classical Cartier design.
Lumes are on the sword-shaped hands and minute markings
Covering this watch is a scratch-resistant Sapphire Crystal.
Cartier’s “secret signature” on the dial, here you can see the very small secret name on the V part of the 7 figure.
Cartier cal. 3110 automatic movement drives this watch featuring date function and 100m/330ft water-resistance enclosed in a stainless steel case (with little to no scratches).
Completing this watch is a stainless steel bracelet in 18.8mm wide and at least 6 inches long bracelet (no extra links included with minor scratches, see photo).
The watch comes in a Cartier aftermarket box as well with no papers.
